The Sau Seng Lum Special Needs Programme students delightedly baking delicious muffins in prevocational sales activity, proven their ability to learn, also shown their initiative and efforts to produce valuable products.

During the process of making muffins, the students have improved fine motor skills when implementing various kitchen tasks. Besides, they also learned to use kitchen utensils and appliances. Through this activity, they have the chance to develop their multi-sensory experiences such as touch, smell, and taste.

The tasks are conducted in a group and under 1:1 supervision and guidance. When a student is performing a task, the other learned by observing, and alternately perform the task. The teachers also select students who mastered a specific task to demonstrate the skills to others.

This kind of skills training approach will help special needs children integrate into society, increase employment opportunities and thus improve their possibility of economic independence
